Pizza Ranch was born in 2009 in Orange City, Iowa, with a simple but powerful idea: bring families together over the most honest, soul-warming food there is — great pizza. Our founders believed that pizza ranch dining could be more than just a meal; it could be a gathering, a celebration, and a tradition.
What started as a single location serving our signature ranch pizza recipes quickly became a community cornerstone. We sourced local dairy for our creamy sauces, partnered with regional farms for fresh toppings, and hand-crafted every dough recipe from scratch. Word spread fast, and soon families were driving from across the United States to experience what made pizzaranch so special.
Today, Pizza Ranch serves thousands of guests weekly, but our heart hasn't changed. Every pizza that leaves our kitchen carries the same care and community spirit that started it all over 15 years ago.

2009
The First Slice
Pizza Ranch opens its first location in Orange City, Iowa. Founder Dale Koelman serves the inaugural ranch pizza to a packed dining room of 60 guests — and sells out completely on night one.
2011
Community Roots Deepen
We launch our "Pizza for a Purpose" fundraiser program, donating 10% of weekly sales to local schools. Over $40,000 is raised for community projects in our first year of giving back.
2014
Expanding the Ranch
Demand for our signature pizzaranch experience grows beyond Iowa. We open three new locations across the Midwest and introduce our beloved Buffet Plus program, still a fan favorite today.
